Christopher Siversen, BURG and Maritime Parc

Name: Christopher Siversen

Business/Location: BURG - Newark, New Jersey and Maritime Parc - Jersey City, New Jersey

The problem your business solves: We feed the hungry masses at lunch and dinner.

One piece of advice you have for other food entrepreneurs: Keep it real and don’t cut the quality.

What you’re most proud of about your business: I wish I had know that everyone has an opinion to give ... and I mean everyone!

Your greatest challenge in your business, and how are you overcoming it: Our biggest challenge is hiring and retaining qualified staff. It’s an ongoing problem industry-wide and it’s getting worse. Now, we focus on finding someone who has a good attitude and put the effort into training them from the ground up.

What you’re most proud of about your business:  I’m most proud of the fact that our customers understand what we are doing and appreciate the quality of it.

What’s yummy about being a food entrepreneur: The best part about being in the food business is seeing happy faces when customers are enjoying our food.
