Hudson Kitchen Is More Than Just A Place To Cook...
We Are A Community

We are a collection of food and beverage-focused entrepreneurs who are here to grow, to dream, to believe, and to achieve with you.

We started with a vision, and we have emerged as an experience that fosters creativity and helps you break down barriers and start and scale your food business the right way, on your own terms.

We believe that food companies are about more than just food. They are about people. They are about making connections. And they are about addressing needs through culinary solutions.

Hudson Kitchen provides you mentorship, business training, and marketing support to help you create these solutions. And we have made it our business to help you build your business.

We are not a big corporation.  We don’t want to be.

We are not competing with your business. We want to support it.

Our small business helps us raise our families. Our small business helps you raise yours.

We are invested in your success.  When you succeed, we succeed. And then the community succeeds.

Our Story

Djenaba Johnson-Jones was laid off from her job as a New York City business development and marketing executive in late 2014. Seeing this set back as an opportunity to strike out on her own, Djenaba’s original plan was to start a fitness concierge service which would include prepared meals delivery. But like any budding entrepreneur, she faced some challenges and hurdles along the way—the most important being that when she partnered with a chef they found there were no local commercial kitchens, and she struggled with finding credible, easy-to-follow information about how to start a food business. That sparked a shift in her business, and Djenaba went from creating her own food business to being focused on helping other food entrepreneurs grow their businesses.

Since 2015, Hudson Kitchen has provided consulting services, networking events, and professional development courses for northern New Jersey area culinary entrepreneurs. The company has connected businesses with major retail outlets, assisted them in securing large catering jobs, helped supply food services to local nonprofit organizations, and raised brand awareness for up and coming food entrepreneurs. The collective has built a community focused on invigorating the conversation and the financial potential for food entrepreneurs in the area. Hudson Kitchen will open its collaborative destination for food and beverage businesses in late 2018.
